CHURCH HAPPENINGS |
NEW HAVEN'S TESTIMONY IN GIVING' |
God has truly blessed New Haven IPHC right from the start of 2022 with several opportunities to contribute financially to some amazing and hard home-hitting causes.
In January, they contributed a large amount to the Boulder Fire through the Red Cross. They then donated another large sum of money to have 3 Water Wells built in India, all through People to People at World Missions. Most recently, New Haven sent yet another large sum to the Ukraine Disaster Relief Fund at World Missions
Let us all join in shouting out a great big Thanks and Praise to God for the bountiful blessing on New Haven Church which then allowed them to help & bless people in India, Boulder and Ukraine! Pastor Bobby says "to God be all the glory" and we definitely agree with him on that. |

MEN OF GOD |
Bruce Heil; Men's Ministry Director |
Who's The Man?
Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.(Heb. “male person”,”a champion”- Iysh, As compared with Ishshah-woman or neqebah-female).
Isaiah 59:16
He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.
Jehovah searched not for a talented athlete, CEO, politician, doctor, professor, or any man whom one would consider great. Jehovah wanted a “man” who would close the gap in the hedge or repair the gap so that the hedge was repaired and be seen as a continuous hedge. In other words, close the gap between the land and Jehovah. (About seven hundred years later, Jesus would be that “man”.) But Jehovah at this time was looking for any (righteous) man, but found none.
Jehovah sought, even begged for a man,not just any person but a “man”, a male person who would be a champion or a great person to bring Judah back to Him. The list of their sins were many. Twenty sins are recorded from verses twenty-five to twenty-nine. The recorded sins included uncleaness, conspiracy against Jehovah Himself, taking advantage of innocent people, robbery, murders, transgression of His law, profaning of Holy things, put no difference between the Holy and the profane, clean and unclean, polluted the sabbaths, profaned Jehovah among the people, the rulers oppressed and murdered the people, covetousness, gave people false hope, lived in vanity, divined lies, the people used oppressions, men in general were robbers, vexed the poor and needy, and oppressed strangers.
No class of humanity was exempt. Prophets, priests, the king and his princes, and the general populace. All were guilty.
We have interpreted this “man” as an intercessor. Jehovah desires us to intercede for others. Every nation needs a “man” to intercede on the behalf of their land. Jehovah said that this “man” could keep Jehovah from destroying the land. Prophetically, it is evident that we are experiencing the “last days”. These passages are relevant even today. Jehovah is searching for that “man”. Are you “that man”? Am I “that man? Only we can answer the call to be such a “man”. My desire is that we will call out to Jehovah “Here I am, I am that man, LORD”. |

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING |
Cheryl Milhorn; WIN Director |
I recently worked in a portion of our garden which had been designated for flowers. Some of the soil still looked pretty healthy, while in other places, it was not. Last year when we were preparing the area for planting, we added some top soil, but we knew it may not be deep enough for the seeds to properly germinate and sprout. As we watched in anticipation of the new growth, we watered and weeded. When the flowers began to sprout and then bloom, the need for more soil was evident, but the seedlings were hearty and showed an array of colors. As the season progressed, the mudslides in the Canon caused our water in the ditch, which is used only for watering, to be extremely muddy, evidence of the river from which it had come. This poor quality water took its toll on our entire yard, flowers included.
As I worked this year, the weeds had taken over in some areas, and were determined not to be uprooted from their chosen spot. While I chopped and raked these pesky weeds, I was thinking about our lives. We may have started on our journey of following Christ, with healthy teaching and nurturing, but the storms of life can bring "muddy water" and we lose sight of our original goal, to know and follow after Him.
In Matthew 13:4-8, we read about the sower who planted seeds, and some fell by the wayside, some were eaten by birds, and some fell on stony places, to sprout quickly because there was no depth to the soil, only to wither and die when the sun became too hot. Others ,we are told, fell on good soil and yielded a good crop.
As we spend time in prayer for the unsaved, or those on rocky ground, maybe we should pray that they will find healthy soil in the form of friends and a Bible teaching Church where they will be nurtured and helped to grow into healthy followers.
Let us remain ever faithful in prayer, |
